• Serial number, VIN, or other identifying number

Terms of the Trade

Then finish the exchange properly:

1. Give both parties a signed copy, printed or as a PDF.
2. Hand over titles, certificates, keys, manuals, and accessories for each item.
3. File whatever your registration or titling office requires for both transfers.
4. Update insurance on each side so coverage follows the correct owner.
5. Store your copy with the photos and any title paperwork you received.
