• Final pay: Employees who quit must be paid within the next payday (no later than 20 days). If discharged, wages are due within 24 hours of demand (MN Stat § 181.13).
• Child labor: Work permits required under 16. Minors face limits on hours and hazardous occupations under both state and federal law.
• Non-competes: Minnesota banned non-compete agreements effective for all agreements entered after July 1, 2023. Non-solicitation, confidentiality, and trade secret clauses are still allowed.
• E-signatures: Minnesota recognizes e-signatures under the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (MN Stat § 325L.05).
