An Iowa eviction notice is a written document landlords must serve before starting an eviction case in court. It explains the reason for eviction, the amount of time the tenant has to comply or leave, and follows the legal timelines set by Iowa Code Chapter 562A (Uniform Residential Landlord and Tenant Law).

• 30-Day Lease Termination Notice (IA Code § 562A.34): Ends a month-to-month tenancy with at least 30 days’ written notice when there’s no lease violation involved.

Iowa law allows service by:
