Social Media Is the Real Battleground
Most leaks are not malicious. They come from people who did not think a post mattered, which is why a film (movie) non-disclosure agreement needs to be explicit about posting rather than abstract about confidentiality.
Be explicit rather than general. Saying no photographs on set, no location tagging, no posting call sheets, and no mentioning who you are working with is far more effective than a clause about confidential information.
Cover the obvious near-misses. A photograph of a coffee cup with a working title on it, a story tagged at a location, or a post about being busy on a project all give away more than the poster realises.
Say when the restriction lifts. People are far more willing to comply if they know they can post after release or after an announcement, so name the trigger rather than leaving it open-ended.
Tip: Brief people verbally as well as on paper, especially background performers and day hires who sign at the door. A one-minute explanation at the call time prevents most problems that a signature alone does not.
